Case: Safety protection upgrade in die-casting workshop

Background
Due to the frequent approach of operators to high-pressure die-casting machines for mold debugging or parts removal, a die-casting workshop is subject to risks such as mechanical pinching and molten metal splashing. In order to comply with the requirements of "keep the operation area unobstructed and strictly prohibit personnel from entering the dangerous area" in the "Safety Operation Procedures for Die-casting Machines", the workshop introduced a safety carpet system.

Perimeter control
A safety carpet with customized dimensions (1200×1800mm) is laid within 1.5 meters around the die-casting machine to form a physical isolation area. The carpet is made of heavy-duty NBR banana material, with a dynamic load of 500kg and a static weighing of 800kg, and can withstand wheel crushing within this range.

Linkage control
The safety carpet is linked to the die-casting machine controller in real time. When a person accidentally steps on the carpet, the carpet immediately outputs a stop signal to the safety relay, which cuts off the power supply of the equipment within 0.5 seconds, forcing the closing of the mold, injection and other actions to avoid pinching or splashing injuries.

Safety Enhancement
Aluminum alloy strips are installed on the edge of the carpet to prevent displacement; combined with the workshop safety door limit switch, double insurance protection is achieved.

Accident rate reduced by 95%: effectively intercepting personnel from mistakenly entering high-risk areas;
Production efficiency improved: reducing equipment damage caused by emergency stops, and maintenance costs reduced by 30%;
