Installation And Maintenance Of Safety Relays

I. Six-Step Installation Method (Standardized Operating Procedure)

1. Power-Off Voltage Verification

Before operation, disconnect the main power supply and use a multimeter to verify that the voltage at the device input is 0V to ensure safe operation.

Note: Wait until the capacitors are fully discharged (recommended ≥5 minutes) to avoid the risk of electric shock from residual voltage.

2. DIN Rail Mounting (Compliant with EN 60715 Standard)

Use 35mm DIN rail for mounting. Ensure the device clips are fully engaged with the rail, with a gap of ≤0.5mm to prevent loosening due to vibration.

Standard Compliance: EN 60715 specifies the dimensions and installation tolerances for industrial DIN rails to ensure compatibility and stability.

3. Independent Dual-Channel Wiring (Wire Diameter ≥ 0.75mm²)

Separate wiring for control and power circuits to prevent electromagnetic interference.

Wire Color: Brown for CH1, blue for CH2, and yellow-green for ground.

Terminal Tightening Torque: 2.5N·m (calibrated using a torque screwdriver).

4. Delay Parameter Setting

Configure the delay time (range: 0.1-300s) using the DIP switches on the device panel or the host computer software. After setting, record the parameter value and verify it against the design drawing.

For example, for a fire alarm scenario, it is recommended to set a delay of 10s to prevent false operation due to transient interference.

5. Power-On Self-Test (Observe LED Sequence)

After initial power-on, the device's LED indicators flash in sequence (red → yellow → green). If they remain solid green within 3 seconds, the self-test has passed.

Fault Handling: If the LEDs flash red cyclically, check the power phase sequence or module communication status.

6. Functional Test (Simulated Fault)

Simulate Input Signal Disconnection: Disconnect the CH1 sensor wiring to verify whether the device triggers protection.

Test the Reset Function: After a fault is triggered, manually press the yellow reset button to observe whether the device returns to normal output.
