Preparation before installation

Device compatibility: Confirm that the safety edge signal type (normally closed/normally open dry contact) matches the controller interface and the voltage is consistent (mainly 24V DC).

Tools and materials: Prepare tools such as wire strippers and multimeters, as well as shielded cables, terminal blocks, waterproof connectors and other materials.

Installation steps

Mechanical fixation: fix the edge according to the equipment contour, and the bend should meet the minimum radius (50-100mm) to ensure a firm fit.

Line connection: connect the edge signal to the controller safety port (normally closed contact is recommended), ground the shield layer at one end, and keep the cable away from strong electricity and fix it.

Parameter configuration: set the trigger logic (such as emergency stop triggered by signal disconnection), response time (≤50ms), and configure the safety level (such as SIL2) as required.

Safety test: press the edge to test the controller action, detect signal changes, and verify the reset function.

Key points

High-risk equipment uses dual-channel edge, connected to the independent port of the controller.

Waterproof and temperature-resistant models are required for special environments, and they must be well sealed.

Regularly check the contact edge status, line continuity, and insulation resistance (≥1MΩ).

The core of the installation is to ensure that mechanical fixation, electrical connection, and logic configuration are reliable, and ultimately third-party safety certification is required.
