Application case of XD-TOF-05D safety laser radar in AGV obstacle avoidance
A warehousing and logistics company integrated the XD-TOF-05D safety laser radar into the AGV navigation system to achieve dynamic obstacle avoidance and safety protection. The AGV needs to deal with scenes such as people walking through and temporary stacking of goods in complex environments. Traditional infrared sensors have detection blind spots and insufficient accuracy.
Technical solution:
Multi-area layered protection
Divide 3 layers of protection areas through configuration software: the yellow warning area (2m range) triggers a deceleration signal; the red braking area (1m range) triggers an emergency stop through the OSSD output signal; the orange transition area (1.5m) activates the sound and light alarm.
270° wide-angle coverage
Using the radar's 270° scanning angle and 0.1° high resolution, obstacle detection in the direction and side of the AGV is achieved to avoid misjudgment caused by narrow structures such as forklift forks.
Implementation effect:
Response time is shortened to 134ms (30Hz scanning frequency), 60% higher than the original system1;
Supports operation in -10°C~55°C environment, suitable for cold storage and high-temperature workshops;
Passed Class I laser safety certification, meeting the safety requirements of human-machine collaboration in industrial scenarios.
The solution automatically generates protection areas through self-learning function, reducing the workload of manual debugging, and is compatible with the NPN/PNP control interface of AGV, achieving seamless connection with the existing PLC system.
